Greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions come from making, moving and getting rid of items that we use. Through effective waste management techniques and responsible recycling, we can use less energy, reduce GHG emission and contribute to a healthier climate. For  example, recycling one aluminium tin can saves over 95% of the energy required to manufacture new cans from new materials. Creating awareness amongst people and initiating practices like waste segregation at the source, would help in minimising the waste at the landfills.
